The business began with producing and supplying fashion accessories made with Swarovski crystals to small retailers in Singapore. Soon it was also supplying these accessories to retailers in Malaysia. Due to demand from the retailers, the business expanded to include reselling Swarovski components to the retailers in Malaysia.

In October 2001, the business moved its headquarters to Kuala Lumpur due to an emerging market for crystal components and related accessories.  Later in the same year, Above Fashion House has been appointed the distributor for Swarovski crystal components in Malaysia.

To build a stronger brand, the first retail concept store was established in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya, on 10^th Feb 2002 located on the center of the mall’s first floor.

In November 2002, the second retail outlet opened at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya.  At the same time, our flagship counter opened in Bumcity, a lifestyle departmental store located at First World Plaza in Genting Highlands.  Bumcity is operated by KLSE 2^nd board listed Hing Yiap which also operates a chain of other clothing boutiques such as BUM Equipment and Diesel.

Since 2003, ABOVE counters were opened at the following Bumcity: Mahkota Parade, Melaka (August 2003); Sunway Pyramid, Selangor (October 2003); Ipoh Parade, Ipoh (November 2003) and most recent, Gurney Plaza, Penang (January 2004).

In December 2003, ABOVE opened its first outlet in the city of Kuala Lumpur at Berjaya Times Square.  The outlet spans over 400 sq ft and carries the widest range of accessories from Ladies bags and sunglasses to fine 925 and sterling silver from Italy.

In August 2004, Above Fashion House launches an extended brand ‘Jolie’, our more exclusive range which is currently offered in Metrojaya departmental stores in Bukit Bintang Plaza and Plaza Pelangi.  In the same month, Jolie opens its flagship boutique in KL Plaza.
